Frances Clarke

An English artist with a Fine Art Degree complemented by travel, study and an exploratory approach, Frances Clarke is particularly interested in art's impact on the viewer. Drawing on over 20 years' experience, Frances reveals a deep understanding of the artistic cycle, aesthetics, and the interplay of energy that exists between the inspirational source and the artist, in her paintings.

The connections between the inspirational source, the artist, the canvas and the audience, are what drive Frances forward. This quest is the result of a process which has taken her from external inspirations for her art to internal sources. Frances's paintings have developed organically over the past 20 years, from the more traditional in form to the complete abstraction of today's pieces. Each painting bears witness to a certain stage in this process which you can see in the Gallery section of this website.

Always deeply interested in meditation and its purpose for the alignment with the soul, Frances has travelled far since her early days of classical training. First in her formal art education and then in her classical drawing studies in Florence, Italy, Frances initially gained insight from working from nature. Then as she investigated the wider abstract teachings of theosophy and the esoteric, Frances was able to bring her art and spiritual interests together.

Frances now aspires to tune into and give expression to the highest vibrational quality of the soul in all her paintings. This process is nearing completion, marked by her current project, after two decades of hard work – every single painting acting as a landmark along her journey.

Until recently Frances divided her time between Valencia, Spain and England. As she prepares for her new research project, the Blue Pearl: Consciousness in Art, Frances is based mainly in the Midlands.

As an artist, Frances is increasingly recognised for her work. She already has an overseas investor, private clients supporting her work and has held a number of exhibitions in England, Spain and Italy. Forming part of a greater strategy for the presentation of Frances's paintings and research to a wider public, the project is to be completed in 2012.
